This 4th of July was a bittersweet one. Kent, myself and his family headed up (way up) to Cumberland, Maryland for his grandmother's funeral. Memaw was a sweet soul and the words that were said about her were inspiring and made me want to step my game up! Kent was excited however to show me the place he spent many vacations as a child.
Maryland is very different from the south, more so than I realized. Luckily, everyone understood what I was saying. No translator needed (I think). I shot most of the trip on film, but thought I'd share the few that I did take digitally. The candy shoppe above was awesome! There was also this clothing store that had criminally low prices for brand names. Ugh, it was torture being dragged out of that place.
So, after countless rest stops between here and there, lots of fast food consumed & singing marathons in the car, we made it back home. All 1,496.46 miles later.

Just google Where the Light Is. It's a CD/DVD set he released about a year ago. The song is so, ahhh!
